I hang out with the awesome, wonderful and sagely Michael Allemeier to discuss the thin line between art and science in the design of food and dishes in this great article.
I’m back in print again everyone! This time I explore the evolution of pizza in Calgary. I take a nostalgic look at my university days eating faux-deep dish compared to the angelic thin crust pizza I love now and explore how Calgarians fell in love with this new pizza experience.
We’re back in the paper this week with a look at how beer pairs with food, and how to select a beer for cooking!
Pickup a copy of today’s FFWD or head on over to their site to read the article.

On Thursday the latest FFWD Weekly came out, and inserted into it was the annual Bar & Restaurant guide. They asked me to do a major section of it covering Chinatown. No, they didn’t know I was Chinese so it was entirely serendipitous… Either way, it worked out really well and I think I was able to capture an unique angle on it. Better yet, I’m on page 5 and not buried deep within the bowels of the magazine!
You can pickup a copy of FFWD at most inner city restaurants, coffee shops, and public news stands. Go out and get it so you can let me know what you think of Chinatown!
